How to Care for Premium Cotton Streetwear — Washing & Storage Guide
Heavyweight cotton and quality prints last a long time — if you treat them right. Most damage to streetwear happens in the wash, not from actual wear.
Wash inside out, always
Turning a graphic piece inside out before washing protects the print from direct friction against other clothes and the machine drum. This alone dramatically extends how long a screen or puff print stays crisp.
Cold water, gentle cycle
Hot water breaks down print adhesion and can shrink heavyweight cotton unevenly. Cold or lukewarm water on a gentle cycle keeps both the fabric and the print intact for far longer.
Skip the dryer
Heat is the fastest way to crack a puff print and warp a heavyweight fit. Air dry flat or on a hanger — it takes longer, but it's the single biggest factor in how long a print survives.
Storage matters more than people think
Fold heavyweight pieces rather than hanging them for long periods — hanging can stretch out the shoulder seams on oversized cuts over time. Keep prints away from direct folding creases where possible.
